Francesca’s offers fantastic value for money, always busy… even at 5pm on the wettest January you will queue, it’s so cosy and friendly it’s like having dinner at your Italian friend’s house
Arlos on Brentwood Avenue is another great Jesmond café/restaurant, busy every day from breakfast to dinner. Sale Pepe at the far end of St Georges Terrace is a cute Italian restaurant with a good happy hour offer and it boasts house wines that are fabulous.
Valley Junction Curry House won best dish in the country with its Lamb Bhuna Gosht…voted by the MPs at Westminster. An absolute MUST! There are so many others, Avanti on Brentwood Ave that plays old Italian tunes, Peace ‘n’ Loaf on Jesmond Road at the bottom of Osborne Avenue always has award-winning food and a warm welcome.
